How often should I visit the dentist?
It’s important to schedule a regular dental check-up and professional teeth cleaning bi-annually, or twice a year. We’ll examine your oral health, look for signs of bone or gum infection, and give your teeth a thorough cleaning.

Getting a professional cleaning will remove any plaque, tartar, or bacteria build-up and prevent a number of oral health problems. This includes gum disease, tooth decay, excessive loss of tooth structure, bone loss, and more.

If I’m missing a tooth, do I really need to replace it?
If you’re missing a tooth, it’s important to replace it as soon as possible to repair its function and prevent future consequences. Leaving a gap between your teeth can cause neighboring or opposing teeth to tip, drift, or over-erupt. This can lead to bite problems, gum disease, tooth decay, and even more tooth loss.

Fortunately, Dr. Ashraf can restore your smile back to perfection with our durable, long-lasting dental implants. They’re made to look and feel like your natural teeth, giving you the freedom to speak and chew with ease.

What are some of the benefits to dental implants?
There are a number of benefits that come with choosing dental implants. Unlike other restoration options, implants replace the entire root to function like your natural teeth. They’re designed to improve comfort, convenience, and your overall appearance.

Dr. Ashraf is an experienced dental implant provider with extensive training in our dental implant solutions. Our practice features single-tooth replacements, all-on-4 implants, and implant-supported dentures to ensure there’s a solution that works for every patient.

I have a cracked or chipped tooth. How can you fix it?
If you have a chipped or cracked tooth, Dr. Ashraf can restore your smile with several cosmetic treatments, like inlays and onlays and CEREC crowns. During your initial consultation, Dr. Ashraf will examine the damage and recommend the most effective solution for you.

To learn more about our cosmetic treatments, give us a call at (519) 725-9585 and a member of our staff will answer any questions you may have.

I have an infected or decayed tooth. Can you save it?
If you have an infected or decayed tooth, Dr. Ashraf can save it and relieve pain with root canal therapy. We use the Single Tooth Anesthesia™ System to numb the affected area, providing patients with a more comfortable experience.

Root canal therapy is safe, highly-effective, and provides results almost immediately after the procedure. Best of all, your root canal is completed right here at Dr. K Ashraf Dentistry for optimal comfort, convenience, and efficiency.

Welcome Back

Life has been anything but normal this spring and we sincerely hope you and your family are in good health. We are happy to inform you that we are now able to once again provide dental care for you and your family. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed back in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety. Our office has always followed strict infection control standards and in order to keep us all protected during this pandemic and in the future, we have updated our protocols. When we see you at your next appointment, things will be a little different.

• We will ask some screening questions before your appointment and you’ll be asked those same questions again when you’re in the office.

• You may be asked to wait outside our office or in your car and call us when you arrive and then wait for a call back to let you know when you can enter the office.

• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the clinic. There are more dispensers around the office for you to use as needed. As well, you will be provided some gloves to wear. We recommend that you bring your own mask to wear prior to entering the clinic.

• Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or children’s toys since those items are difficult to fully disinfect.

• Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

• You may be surprised that we’re wearing more protective gear – such as masks, face shields, gowns – than we normally do during your visit.

Rest assured, all these procedures are designed to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our team. We have undergone some renovations during this time. All operatory suites have been fully enclosed with glass windows and doors. This will ensure that all aerosols will be contained in the operatory. Prior to COVID-19, we had already installed Hepa filtration systems in all operatories and waiting areas. These systems are from Surgically Clean Air.

We look forward to seeing you again. If you have any questions, please let us know. To make an appointment, call our office at 519-725-9585 or email us at info@ashrafdentistry.ca.

Thank you for patience and loyalty throughout this ordeal. We value your trust and look forward to welcoming you back!

Sincerely,

Dr K Ashraf and the whole Dental Team.
